Well, I've been living in New York for 1 3/7 weeks, so you know what that means. It's time for my 1 3/7 week update. I finally found a place to live. I just signed the lease. Here are some pictures. The good news, it's awesome, the bad news, I can't move in 'til September. So in the mean time life has take the form of a situational comedy/reality TV show. See what happens when three people...THREE PEOPLE...are picked to live in a one bedroom apartment on the upper east side. Oh man, it's crazy!!!
At the current and future apartment, I'll be living with Lauren, one of my roomates from my senior year of college, Geronimo, a chef (yeah, I'm gonna be a huge fat-ass), and the voices in my head. They're both very nice, and with our powers combined we make Captain Planet, so yeah, that's what's up with that.
I was worried this would happen, but I find myself really homesick for Cleveland. It's little things I miss, like my own bedroom, my DVD collection, and also Tracie. I miss my friends a lot too. No one here calls me Eddie. I've been trying to drop hints, that I like to be called Eddie, but you can't force a nickname, no matter how appropriate. If history has taught us anything it's that people who force nicknames usually wind up with other more derogatory nicknames. Like Cheesedick. Or One-Tit Mary. Or Poopie. Or Stinky. Or Ole' Sap Nipples. People at my new job are nice enough, but I sure do miss the good people at Liggett.
Now that I'm a resident of the cultural epicenter of the World, I find myself partaking in it's many cultural endeavors. Take last weekend for instance. I tried on a pair of jeans at American Eagle Outfitters, where I got a free movie ticket for trying on said jeans. I then promptly used that ticket to see You Me and Dupree. Starring Owen Wilson, Goldie Hawn's Daughter, and everyone's favorite half-monkey half-man half-abomination, Matt Dillion. Yes, not even the acrid anti-charisma of the former Mr. Chameron Diaz himself could deter Owen Wilson from being Dignan. Different movie, same character. Yeah, so that's some broadened horizons for you.
I think this weekend I'll eat at the TGI Friday's in Time Square, and maybe hit up the giant Toys R Us while I'm at it. I also promise I'm going to update more. Does anyone still read this? I know it's pretty masturbatory, but I don't have my own room anymore, so I have to do it somewhere. Why not here?
